Deskripsi Produk

The Norovirus+Rotavirus/Adenovirus+Astrovirus+Enterovirus Combo Rapid Test (Feces) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of norovirus, rotavirus, adenovirus, astrovirus and enterovirus in human fecal specimens to aid in the diagnosis of norovirus, rotavirus, adenovirus, astrovirus or enterovirus infection.

Norovirus, Rotavirus, Adenovirus, and Astrovirus are the primary viral agents responsible for acute gastroenteritis. Rotavirus is the leading cause of severe, dehydrating diarrhea in infants worldwide. Norovirus is the most common cause of gastroenteritis outbreaks in all age groups, known for its rapid transmission in closed settings. Adenovirus (specifically types 40/41) and Astrovirus are also significant causes of childhood diarrhea, typically presenting with milder symptoms than Rotavirus.

In contrast, Enterovirus represents a diverse genus with a distinct clinical profile. While some enterovruses can cause gastrointestinal symptoms, they are more notoriouslv associated with systemic and neurological diseases, such as Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, viral meningitis, and poliomyelitis. Differentiating these viruses is crucial for epidemiological surveillance and patient management, particularly in preventing dehydration in children. While specific antiviral treatments are generally unavailable, oral rehydration therapy remains the primary intervention for viral gastroenteritis.
